Les Figues Press announces a fundraising initiative to establish a Kathy Acker Fellowship. The purpose of the Kathy Acker Fellowship is to support innovative, exceptional text-based practices. The Kathy Acker Fellowship will be a 10-month, part-time paid position supporting an emerging writer/artist, literary editor, or arts organizer. Kathy Acker Fellows will learn the ins-and-outs of small press publishing while also completing a curatorial project, to be presented in Los Angeles in 2015. The Kathy Acker Fellowship is offered with the support of the Literary Trust of Kathy Acker. Kathy Acker’s desk is housed at the Les Figues offices, and Fellows will be able to use it as a workstation.
