Les Figues Press is proud to be part of the Thinking Its Presence: Race and Creative Writing Conference! Join Teresa Carmody, Prageeta Sharma, and Dorothy Wang for “To Be A Reading Body Read: Les Figues Press Presents: A Conversation” as they have an informal conversation about reading race and the racialized body (textual & corporeal). In our various roles as teachers, scholars, artists, and publishers, we curate public spaces and conversations that manifest multiple readings, while raising questions about how we read and who/what is read. This conversation is an attempt to open up and interrogate the ways in which our reading and/or curatorial practices make space for that which is (to paraphrase Wang) political and cultural and social and literary.
